Numbers don't add up!

As I pass the 200,000 page-views, I’ve noticed some strange figures. Maybe that milestone isn’t as significant as I first thought.

Yesterday, I appeared to have in excess of 9,000 page-views – in one day! And yet the count for any individual day’s post or for the week doesn’t come anywhere near that total.

The ‘audience’ count tells a different picture:

France – 1254
Brazil – 1494
Belgium – 1219
Philippines – 717
Kuwait – 430
Ukraine – 75
US – 11
China – 5
UK - 3
Turkey – 3

As for individual posts, my entry for 20 October 2013 – Halloween – a sepulchral place totalled 666…! Horrifyingly significant?

So now I’m not so sure that that milestone is ‘real’… A pity, as it would be nice to think that all those page-viewers were actually interested in the various books I’ve posted about!

Big 900 - thank you, page-viewers!

I've managed to write 900 posts in this blog to date. I must admit I started off in 2009 intermittently, which is not the way to gain regular readers. For the last couple of years I've tried to blog daily, though have not always succeeded in that endeavour. Holidays and life tend to intrude from time to time.

Individual post reads have varied from about 50-odd to a thousand, and there doesn't seem to be any common factor relating to the type of post. Still, I hope that those who made the 120,500 page-views have found something of interest. On average, per month the blog has about 3,500 views. Not great by many blog posters' standards, but I appreciate everyone who drops in.

In conclusion, thank you page-viewers all!

Tomorrow, there will be a colourful post pertinent to the day and time of year.

The 800

Yesterday's blog was my 800th since I began in 2009.

The blog entries in the early years were infrequent - due to pressure of other work. Recently, the average page-views have been about 2-3,000 a month, though for the last few weeks the page-view numbers have suffered - understandably, since I've been remiss in blogging due to being busy on a work in progress (yet there's always a work in progress, I find!) and the pleasant distractions of visitors from UK. Our current visitor is here for a week, so next week I may get back to normal...

Thank you to all readers who remain faithful and find something of interest in the archives!
